The Italian Recovery Team was born as the field research staff of the North Apennines Po Valley Park. The coordinators of this activity are the Museo Gotica Toscana (Florence) and the Museo della Seconda Guerra Mondiale del fiume Po di Felonica (Mantova). The Italian Recovery Team works in close relationship with the relevant bodies such as Onor Caduti and, depending on the context, other national and international bodies or associations can join the research.
The Italian Recovery Team is a non-profit organization, made up of volunteers, and has as its objective the study of battlefields and places of imprisonment of Italians during the Second World War. The research in the field are aimed at mapping the places, the recovery of artifacts for study and the common intent to repatriate the fallen.
